Perceptions of reality

Ones perception of reality
Does not always fit the mold.
The portrayal of ones minds eye
May be in what your told.

You hear a breeze on the the phone
And water rushing by
An ocean is what your told
To see in your minds eye.

In reality though
A fan was on the phone.
And water was pouring on the floor
From a tub that was left alone.

The suggestion of what to see
When you are not there
Is often stronger than the reality
For of other things you are not aware.

Perception is reliant
Upon the things we trust
A photograph or another's words
And reality is a bust.

So remember that your perception
Based on what your told
Won't always fit reality
But may be better than gold
