Chilled earth as cold as night containing planted seed
Moisture as condensation forms upon the surface and beneath
Gravity pulls and the moisture travels with-in the ground
The touch of which begins to animate what was sound
A feeler comes forth and follows gravity's pull
Digging, drilling , dredging, searching for a pool
Like a straw begins to lick the elixir of life
As a wick absorbing ever more and more
The refreshing waters stir the seed yet more
and with-in its shell a shooter begins to form
The shooter defies gravity's will
Fighting against it for the warmth it will feel
Like the shell of an egg the surface of the ground is cracked
Out bursts the greenery basking in the suns light
With a flourish the first leaf unfolds
Stretching, reaching, leaning for every glimmer of light.
Night settles in and the new life builds and grows
Deeper, taller, wider branching as it goes.
With the first glimmer of sun
What was two is four.
